Q:
Replacing the motherboard battery for a d8b CPU.
A:
CAUTION Be careful to stay away from the power supply section, so as not to get zapped!
1.) Remove the Power Cable from the unit. 2.) Remove the outside casing of the unit. 3.) In the center of the motherboard is a flat disc-type lithium battery (Duracell DL2032 or similar). 4.) Push back the 2 black plastic tabs and lift out the dead one. 5.) Push in the replacement battery, ‘+’ side up. 6.) Run your fingers through the carpet to find the screws you dropped. 7.) Reinstall casing. 8.) Put the CPU back in the rack. 9.) Plug all the cables back into it. 10.) RESETTING THE CMOS: 11.) While powering up, press and hold the 12.) Use the attached BIOS document to verify and change all settings. Do NOT load any preferred settings or optimal settings. Use 13.) Select SAVE SETTINGS & EXIT, 14.) At this point the console should reboot, and life will be good. If not, kick the CPU and call Tech Support.
