When I play or record audio into the UA-1A, I hear little pops and clicks all the time. Why does this happen?

Your computer may be suffering from what we've termed "IRQ Sharing," especially if you have a laptop PC. For an explanation of IRQ sharing click here. If you are running Windows XP you can often fix pops and clicks by running the Microsoft update for audio/video. Click here for instructions on the procedure.
