This switch, as well as the "Computer 2" port, were included on the 888 for a function that was never implemented. The 888 should always be run in "8ch" mode, and the I/O cable should always be connected to the "Computer 1" port.The Computer 2 port and Mode button were removed from later revs of the 888 I/O Audio Interface.
