The Bit3 7 Slot PCI Expansion Chassis is a 3rd party PCI Expansion Chassis that lets you use up to 7 PCI cards with any Digi supported PCI CPU.Slot Architecture: 7 PCI slots available with an 8th host slot used for the interface card. Slots 1-3 and 4-7 are available for PCI cards. * Please note that the Bit 3 Chassis host card goes into the host slot between the 3rd and 4th PCI cards. The 4th node of the ribbon cable should be skipped when using the Bit 3 chassis. The last four nodes of the ribbon cable connect to the remaining four cards. Looking at the front of the unit, the slots are labeled left to right: 1, 2, 3, interface card, 4, 5, 6, 7.CPU to Chassis Interface Connections: The Bit3 Chassis comes with two separate interface cards. One card installs in the CPU while the second card installs in the host slot of the chassis. The Host card (labelled #101) must be installed in the CPU, while the Chassis card (labelled #102) is installed in the Chassis. Cable length: Choice of 2 or 4 foot external cable. Power Supply Options: 115v or 230v switchable Dimensions: 4-U rack mount 19" W x 7" H x 17" D Weight (empty): 25 lb. (12.25 kg).- As of 12/1/96, all PCI expansion chassis systems require the 8-Node ribbon cable assembly. This is to allow for the middle host slot (8th slot) found on the Bit-3 Chassis system. There is no TDM ribbon cable terminator required on any PCI TDM system. The 8-node cable comes with a utility disk that includes the PCI version of Digitest (2.3) that supports the PCI chassis system.
