Q:
My USD looks dead. On power up, no lights are present on the front panel.
 
A:
This is normal behavior if the firmware update process failed or did not complete the update mode. Go through the steps again to update the firmware as outlined on p. 44 of the USD User's guide 3.0.In order to use the USD Setup the USD MUST be connected to the modem or printer port. Updating the USD from within Pro Tools is only possible via the DigiSerial port. In a situation where updating firmware has failed:1) Connect USD to modem port2) Reboot MAC with extensions off3) Configure USD in PT4) Update firmware with USD setup
