Q:
On some ISA 430s, when the VU meter is set to show amount of gain reduction by the compressor, the meter does not read "0" even though there is no signal present, and therefore no gain reduction.
A:
This problem with the calibration of the compression level meter is due to thermal drift. There is a modification that can be done at the Focusrite service center (TRD in Las Vegas) to fix this problem.
