Q:
How do I record a MIDI track as an audio track?
A:
-Create an audio track (File Menu > New Track). If stereo, make two audio tracks and pan each hard left and right. -Connect the outputs of your MIDI device (keyboard, drum machine, etc.) into the available audio inputs of your computer. -Set the input of the audio track to the input(s) you have connected into from your MIDI device to your computer's audio inputs. -If you are not actually recording yet and you want to monitor the signal through an audio track, make sure that Pro Tools Free is set to Input Monitor only under the Operations menu. Record enable the audio tracks you wish to hear signal on. If you plan on monitoring the audio signal from your MIDI device without recording it you can route it to an Au track. This will allow you to hear the signal without xillaryrecord enabling tracks.
