For best sync, the USD should be connected to the Digiserial port (available on d24 and Mix Cards) and Machine Control (9-pin) should be connected to the modem or printer port. When the USD is on the Mac Serial port there is potentially some latency in resetting the USD so the lock will not be as accurate (+/- 5-10 samples vs. +/- 1 sample).
