Q:
Spot mode does not function in Pro Tools 5.0 or 5.01. When Pro Tools is in spot mode the spot dialog box does not come up. This happens when a region is clicked on with the grabber tool or dragged from the region bin into the edit window with Pro Tools in spot mode.
 
A:
Disable the Auto-Spot Regions function in the Operations menu. When Pro Tools is in auto spot mode, it will not bring up the spot dialog unless a USD is attached, Pro Tools' positional reference is set to VITC and there is valid VITC seen by Pro Tools
