Q:
The naming structure for files recorded in Pro Tools 5.0.1 and earlier creates confusion when those files are imported and edited in other sessions.
A:
Default 'take' names in PT 5.1 have been changed to use _01 instead of -01. This allows regions to maintain their 'take' numbers when editing them, while also adding an 'edit' number.Doing a Separate on a 5.0.1 created file (e.g. Audio-01) leaves you with Audio-02 and Audio-03.Doing a Separate on a 5.1 created file (e.g. Audio_01) leaves you with Audio_01-01 and Audio_01-02, maintaining both the 'take' and the 'edit' information.
