Q:
DAE is running low on memory.Pro Tools LE for Windows. The computer does meet the required minimum memory configuration, but theprogram reports memory is running low.
A:
The memory low error when launching Pro Tools on windowscan indicate that the wavedriver is corrupted. -Check Device Manager, sound video and game controllers, and make sure the Digidesign 001 is there. - If it is not present look in the Device Manager list for a "PCI multimedia device" with a ? next to it. This would indicate the wave driver was not installed correctly.- To remove the Wavedriver or unknown device, click on the device and click remove. Open any folder, click view, folder options, View, Hidden files, show all files and apply. - Do a find for "DALWDM" then delete any items listed. Restart and guide the user throughout the proper installation. Make sure to enable "DMA"
