Some customers are experiencing lower than desired output from the C24 master monitoring pot. The Control|24 uses an electronic circuit to control gain (digitally controlled gain). This allows us to set the "taper" of the pot to whatever we want because it's actually digitally switching gain levels, not controlling the audio directly. So, the taper was set based on testing done during design and build in order to allow the monitor pot to function in the "sweet spot" (between 9 and 2) for the majority of users using common powered monitors at average listening levels.The output pot levels were tested with a mixture of Mackie powered monitors, Genelec powered monitors, and Anchor monitors with a PT session and with a CD source. Based on this testing we set a pot level that would avoid customers having to turn powered monitors way down on their input trims to accommodate the "sweet spot" adjustments (9-2 o'clock) that we were looking to obtain.
