Connect the Mac serial port on the back of the MicroLynx to a serial port on the CPU. Note: MicroLynx has been known to not work well with a Keyspan USB to serial adapter but seems to work fine with a G port or Stealth port adapters. Connect the ACG O.S. out on the Lynx to the slave clock in of the first Pro Tools interface. Make a new setup in OMS or search for new devices. OMS should see the MicroLynx as a standard interface with a generic device hanging off of it. Double click on the device in OMS (it will look like a keyboard with a question mark). Type in "MicroLynx" under name, Uncheck the Is Controller and Is Multitimbral boxes and check the receives/sends MTC boxes. Receive channel can be set to 1.In Pro Tools, go to Setups, Peripherals, and Synchronization. Under device choose Generic MTC Reader, and under port choose MicroLynx (or whatever name you gave it in OMS). Hit Okay and put the Pro Tools transport online. Pro Tools is now waiting for sync.Make the following settings on the MicroLynx keyboard:1. Select ACG and set the O.S. (oversample) out to 256. Make sure that the first Digidesign interface reads Slave under Sync Mode.2. Also under ACG, confirm that the NOM S/Rate Out matches the sample rate of Pro Tools.3. Select Setup, MIDI, and set MIDI out Jack to MTC. Use the Last/Next buttons to go to Selection: MAC OUT Jack and set it to MTC. Make sure that the Selection is set to MAC OUT port rather than I/F port. Use the +/- keys to change if needed.4. Add the Time Code Generator (TCG) to the machine group. Select Setup, TCG, TCG Options, and select the appropriate system reference.5. Also under Setup, choose port select - Mac midi 422 es to enable the Mac port. If this is set to OFF, timecode will not pass through.6. Set the frame rate. Select Setup, TCG, use Last/Next until you see System Spd/Code and use +/- to select the appropriate frame rate.Pro Tools should now slave to incoming timecode from the MicroLynx transport and you should see incoming timecode under Current Time in the Pro Tools Session Setup Window. If you do not, power cycle the MicroLynx. If timecode is still not getting into Pro Tools, confirm all software and hardware settings and connections. If problems persist, trash the OMS current state preference file (located in the System Folder, OMS Folder, OMS Preferences
