Q:
How do I subscribe to an already created OMS Patchlist for MIDI in Pro Tools LE v. 5.1/Mac?

A:
Since the demise of Opcode, many newer MIDI devices' patchlists are not provided by OMS. These setup instructions provide the user with the ability to utilize a previously created patchlist when accessing the "Default Program Button" in a Pro Tools session. 1) Launch a Pro Tools Session. 2) Setups Menu > OMS Names. OMS Names will either let you create a new patchlist document or subscribe to an already created patchlist. In this case, subscribe to a pre made OMS patchlist. (Many websites provide previously made OMS patchlists for downloading.) 3) To launch OMS Names: In Pro Tools > Setups Menu > OMS Names. 4) Highlight a selection in the "Patch Name Document" column to the right ot the corresponding MIDI device. 5) Click on Names Menu (on menu bar) > Subscribe > Locate and double-click on the OMS Patchlist document on your hard drive. Now the patchlist will be available in OMS/Pro Tools. To view the patchlist, select the button that says " None" (Default Program Button) beneath the name of your MIDI track. You will now see the names of the patches for that MIDI device.
