The method prevents Windows from using the WaveDriver for the Digidesign 001 by only allowing the usage of the Soundblaster driver for Windows applications such as the Windows Media Player. 1) My Computer > Control Panel > Multimedia or (Sound and Multimedia for Windows ME) > Audio Tab > Select the Soundblaster for Playback, Recording (and MIDI on Windows ME) > Check "Use only preferred devices". Apply/OK. 2) My Computer > Control Panel > Multimedia or (Sound and Multimedia for Windows ME) > Devices Tab > Open Audio Devices category > Double Click on Audio for Digidesign Multimedia Devices > Select "Do not use audio features on this device" and "Do not map through this device". Uncheck "Use audio features on this device". Apply/OK. Restart.
