Multi-cam mode allows an Avid system to display up to 4 different video clips simultaneously on 4 quadrants of the video screen. Avids will only play one clip at a time in this mode (selectable with the arrow keys), but will display all 4 when stopped. Multicam is often used when several cameras were shooting a scene from different angles and all contain the same time code.Pro Tools AVoption or AVoption XL can import and play multi-cam clips via OMF with Digitranslator 2.0 and higher only. Digitranslator 1.x and OMF tool will not handle multi-cam clips. Pro Tools will only play the clip that was selected by the Avid at the time of export. It does not allow you to toggle through the different clips.
