In Pro Tools 5.1.3, when switching the selected output from Built-in to Digidesign in Sound Manager, enabling "check signal level"on the input panel will result in digital noise being sent out the Digidesign hardware.

To avoid this, reboot with the Digidesign output selected and then enable "check signal level.
