Q:
What types of files are created when exporting or bouncing to OMFI from Pro Tools 5.1.3 with DigiTranslator 2.0 enabled?
A:
There are several ways to produce an OMF with Pro Tools 5.1.3 and DigiTranslator 2.0. By checking the "publish as OMFI" box when exporting specific audio files or bouncing to disk produces an OMF wrapped audio file (or files) that are Avid compatible, plus an msmFMID.pmr file for compatibility with the Avid MediaManager database. When exporting selected tracks as OMF (under the File menu), an OMF sequence document containing the session metadata and timeline information is created, in addition to OMF wrapped audio files and an msmFMID.pmr file.
