Q:
When I launch Pro Tools LE with my 001 on my Windows machine I get an error "Access Violation Occurred"
A:
This error can be caused many devices or programs that conflict with the 001 or Pro Tools LE. If DMA is already enabled for the IDE drives, follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. In Device Manager, disable all unnecessary devices (i.e. modems, network adapters, USB Host Controllers) 2. Start Menu> Run type in "msconfig" and click "OK." Click on the STARTUP tab. Turn off all unnecessary startup items. 3. click "APPLY" then "OK" 4. Restart and launch Pro Tools LE, create a new session. 5. If step 4 is successful, re-enable 1 device at a time, restart and repeat step 4 until the error returns. If the error does not return, re-enable each startup item 1 at a time, restart and repeat step 4 until the error returns. When the error returns the last device or item that was enabled is the culprit and should remain disabled.
