Q:
Performing edits on grouped mono files results in the loss of all but one of the selected regions. The lost regions also disappear from the Region List.
A:
This is a known bug in Pro Tools 5.1.3. Steps to reproduce:1. Create a Pro Tools 5.1.3 Session.2. Create one multichannel Audio Track... Record 30 seconds of audio.3. Select the Track and do a File > Export Selected Tracks as OMF... Make sure you choose Embedded for File Type.4. Close this session and open a new session.5. Choose File > Open Session and select the OMF you just created.6. Group all tracks together (when imported they will show up as individual mono tracks, instead of one multichannel track)7. Use the trimmer tool to edit the tail end of the files... As soon as the edit is complete you should notice that the Region Bin now only contains 1 region (probably the single .L file) instead of the original number of regions that existed previously. Now all mono files have the same region visible in the Edit Window.
