When attempting to use the Pencil Tool (Pro Tools v5.1.3), it has a little padlock next to it, preventing me from using it.
A:
This will occur if you are working with an OMF file. OMF files are "read only" and cannot be altered. A workaround for this issue is to select "copy audio source files" instead of "refer to source..." when you import the omf files. In addition, it keeps your OMFI folder untouched as a safety backup of your export.
