Q:
Machine Control in Pro Tools 5.1 or 5.11 on Windows 2000 is grayed out, although it was fine in previous versions.
A:
There seems to be a conflict between the PACE authorizations of focusrite's d2/d3 and Machine Control. Deauthorising d2/d3 will activate the Machine Control key again.A workaround would be:1. Rename the "Machine Control.dpm" file to "machine Control.dpm" In most cases this file is located in: C:\Program Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins\2. Delete your "Installed Plug-Ins"file. In most cases this file is located in C:\Program Files\Digidesign\DAE\DAE Prefs\3. Reboot your machine4. Launch Pro Tools. Machine Control should be available again.
