Q:
Pre-Roll is audible but Post-Roll is not while recording.
A:
In short, this is normal behavior for Pro Tools.-Pro Tools uses 2 voices for QuickPunch (one for the existing audio track, and one for the punches). This in turn allows a seamless transition between the take and the existing audio. When QuickPunch is disable, the recording track only has one voice allocated to it. The quiet post roll is caused by Pro Tools reallocating that voice to the existing audio after the take. (Notice how "mute free voice" causes a mute lag? Same thing). If you let your post roll run long enough, the previously recorded audio will begin playing back. This will be more audible if you are recording a lot of tracks at once in a big session.
