Set the desired frame rate on the Otari FS-96 or Tascam T/DIF 1 to match the DA-98 and Pro Tools frame rate.3. Setups menu > Peripherals: Synchronization: Device is Generic MTC reader, Port is Any, check the enable control of Pro Tools via MMC box, only if you want to control the DA-98 from the Pro Tools Transport. Set the sample and frame rates to match that between the DA-98 and Pro Tools. Current time and session start time should match hours. Set the sync mode to optical. note: If you do not see "current time" then the timing information is not being sent from the DA-98/Otari FS-96 or Tascam T/DIF (check midi connections, Pro Tools settings or the DA-98). If, when switching sync mode from internal to optical, you get the error "unable to detect a clock source" then the optical cable is at fault or Pro Tools is not receiving the optical sync (Go to setups: Playback engine: and make sure that Optical format is on ADAT). When changing session start times you must press the enter key to complete the change in hour. If it prompts you to adjust the regions choose "Maintain Relative" position.3.
