Q:
-9136 when working in Pro Tools LE with Mbox.
A:
Some users who were once connected to a DSL server and have terminated their service may be more prone to the -9136 error message in Pro Tools LE. Also, users who now have a DSL connection, but have unplugged their Ethernet cable to the computer report getting -9136 error message when working in Pro Tools LE. If the Ethernet cable is not connected to the Ethernet port, the computer will constantly check for a connection, which will prevent USB streaming, thus, causing the -9136 error message. Here are some things to try:Tip: Try these solutions one at a time by launching Pro Tools after trying one solution to see if the error message has been fixed. If the error remains, try another solution. 1) Plug the Ethernet cable back into the computer and restart.Launch Pro Tools.and/or 2) - Create an extensions set to use with Pro Tools. Apple Menu > Control Panels > Extensions Manager. - Set the extension set to Mac OS 9x Base. Click "Duplicate Set" on bottom right. - Name the set "Pro Tools" and click OK. - Scroll to the top in the Control Panel section and check the boxes for "Digidesign" and "OMS Preferred Device". - Scroll down into the Extensions section and check boxes for Digidesign USB Driver, Digidesign Direct I/O, Digidesign DSP Manager, Digidesign Stream Manager, DigiSystem INIT, Rocket INIT, TSM Fix 1.03, and any other extensions necessary to run the Mbox session (ie. MIDI interface, etc.).3) Also, in the Extensions Manager disable (by unchecking) the Apple Enet and Apple Enet DLPI Support extensions and restart. 4) Try unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable on the Mbox, also known as "hot-swapping".5) Quit out of Pro Tools. Shut down the computer. Plug the Mbox into a different USB port on the computer. 6) If you have a USB PCI card in the computer, try a port on the USB PCI card.
