Canopus ADVC 1000 FireWire video transcoder not functioning or causes the Mac to freeze.
 
A:
This is a known issue with the Firewire Enabler and Firewire Support extensions that ship with the Spanish Mac OS 9.2.2. If using the Spanish OS, replace these two extensions with version 2.8.6 from the English OS.
