Q:
Remote Control in conjunction with "All MIDI Inputs"
A:
To use remote control devices, such as Steinberg's Houston is a great thing. In conjunction with Cubase SX it is important to note that remote control data are recorded to MIDI tracks (and thrued), when the track input is set to "All MIDI Inputs".
In some cases, not only the trackmixer but also MIDI instruments routed to that track will be unintentionally remote controlled. To avoid this, you should exclude single MIDI In ports from the "All MIDI Input" setting: - go to the "Devices" menu and open the "Device setup" - in the category "All MIDI Inputs" single MIDI In Ports can be deactivated - here every port that is accessed by a remote control device should be deactivated.
