Press the Master button, spin the data knob to the left (to make sure it's at the beginning), go 14 clicks to the right, press the cursor right button twice, turn the data knob to the left again (to make sure it's at the beginning), and turn the knob 2 clicks to the right. Multi-mode will now be saved as the default mode.
