How do I install the new US428/US224 driver for OSX?
A:
To install the 3.2.1 driver software:
Note – This software can only be used with Mac OS X 10.2.3 or later. 1. Open the ‘US-224 Installer’ folder and double-click on the ‘US-224 Installer’ icon. 2. If necessary enter your Name and/or Password into the ‘Authenticate’ window to allow software changes under Mac OS10.x and click ‘OK’. 3. You should now see the ‘Welcome to the US-224 v. 3.2.1 Installer’. This process will install the following files: a. US-224 Manager application (in Applications) b. US-224 Driver (in System/Library/Extensions) c. US-224 MIDI Plug-in (in Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers) d. US-224 Assistants (in Library/Application Support) e. US-224 Icon (in Library/Audio/MIDI Devices/Generic/Images) Turn OFF your US-224 device and click ‘Continue’ to advance to the next window. 4. ‘Important Information’ – this window provides a brief description of each file installed and offers the option to print if desired. Click ‘Continue’ to proceed. 5. ‘Software License Agreement’ – Please read and then click ‘Continue’ to proceed and verify that you agree with the Software License Agreement on the warning panel. 6. ‘Select a destination disk’ – Select the appropriate device and click ‘Continue’. 7. ‘Easy Install’ – click ‘Upgrade’. A warning will appear reminding you that you will have to restart your computer at the end of this process. Acknowledge by either clicking ‘Continue Installation’ or pressing ‘Return’. If you do not wish to continue you may click ‘Cancel at this point’. 8. After the software has been successfully installed, click ‘Restart’ to complete the process.
