Q:
MOTU Issue: How do I connect my DAT via SPDIF to the 2408
A:
Open the PCI-324 Console, or open the Configure Hardware Driver Window(if you are using AudioDesk or Digital Performer), and assign Bank C to SPDIF. Enable the input and assign the Output Source as "From Computer". If you have the "Enable Routing " button unchecked we will assign the input and output for you. You will just have assign Bank C to SPDIF.
Whenever recording a SPDIF source you must set the Clock Source to "2408-SPDIF". Make sure the Sample Rate on the 2408 also matches the Sample Rate of the SPDIF source. When you are done recording a SPDIF source, your clock source should be set to PCI-324-Internal for playback. When playing to a SPDIF destination, your clock source should be on PCI-324 Internal or any other valid Clock Source, and the SPDIF destination should be clocking to SPDIF. There is one coaxil SPDIF input and two coaxil SPDIF outputs on the 2408. The Aux. Output is where the signal will be routed when ever assigning a track to SPDIF 1-2. The Main output mirrors Analog 1-2. Therefore, whenever a track is assigned to Analog 1-2 the signal will also be sent to the SPDIF Main output. |
