Q:
MOTU Issue: Drag and Drop an Audio CD file in Digital Performer 2.5 or higher
A:
DP 2.5 introduced the feature to import CD audio tracks into a stereo track of DP or into the soundbites window. To click drag a track from an Audio CD, here's what to do:
1. Launch Digital Performer. 2. Insert an audio CD. 3. Open the audio CD on the desktop to view the tracks. 4. Click drag a CD track to a stereo audio track in DP or into the soundbites window. 5. Select to split the audio file to two files and choose a destination folder. In order for drag and drop from CD to work, you need QuickTime 3.02 or 4.1.2. Other versions of Quciktime 4 had problems with this function, so get 4.1.2! Also, if you have SCSI CD burner attached, that can cause problems... See "-65 error when dragging and dropping from an audio CD" FAQ. For those having problems with Drag and Drop Support in DP or other QuickTime' based functionality that just isn't happening: Reinstall the latest version of QuickTime available, only instead of the Easy Install that it offers, choose a Custom Install and -at least- make sure to install "QuickTime Authoring".
