INSTALLATION:

1. Download the WDM Drivers for USB & Parallel MOTU MIDI from motu.com under the downloads tab.

2. Carefully follow the Read Me Doc included with these drivers.

If everything works correctly your interface will show up in the sounds and audio control panel, audio tab, under preferred midi playback device.

If there's a problem with the install, the interface will show up as "PC Midi Flyer" under preferred midi playback device. (NOTE: If you have a PC Midi Flyer it's OK for it to show up as Flyer). Should this occur follow these steps:

TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. In device manager, right click the Printer Port (LPT1) and select Properties. Select the Port Settings tab. Select the Use any interrupt assigned to the port option for Filter Resource Method.

2. In the BIOS of your PC, make sure your Parallel port mode is set to Standard, SPP, ECP, or Bi-Directional. Choose one of these modes and reboot. If the interface still shows up as Flyer shut down and try the next mode until you've tried them all. If you need help with BIOS contact your computer maker.

3. Try hard resetting your MOTU midi interface by powering it down, holding the panic button in and turning it back on while holding down the panic button.

4. Install the "LPT Refresh" utility that comes with the WDM drivers and run it, which forces a rescan of the LTP port.

5. Make sure your Printer Port is on IRQ 7 as our driver requires this. If you need help reassigning LPT1's IRQ, contact your computer maker. Also, make sure you're using the motu interface on LPT1, not LPT2 (if your machine has two LPT ports).

6. Try a different parallel port cable.

7. Switcher boxes and copy protection dongles can also interfere with the scan. For troubleshooting, remove these devices.
