This is a known issue that Digidesign and Pace have seen on some, but not all machines. Installing OS X (or upgrading to a later version of OS X) on the same computer that you run OS 9.x with Pro Tools can cause serious file corruption and permanent damage to Pro Tools-related authorizations.

Digidesign recommends that you remove all of your Pace floppy authorizations from the hard drive before installing any flavor of OS X onto that same drive. Once the OS X installation has been completed, reboot back into OS 9.x and reinstall the Pace floppy authorizations.
