Q:
OS: X: Logic crash (VST_AU-adapter

A:
Product: Platinum, Gold, Silver
Version: 5.x, 6.x

Description:
Logic crashes when initializing core audio, shortly after scanning the installed Audio Units.

Explanation:
OS X VST Plugins were converted with fxpansion's VST_AU adapter.

The VST_AU adapter is a very new tool. Not all converted Plug-ins are working correctly. Please install new available updates. furhter information about problems and limitations are available in the read-me of the VST_AU adapter.

After converting the available OS X VST plugins you will find the converted plugins as "VST_AU pluginname.component" in the "Components" folder.

There are two "Components" folders in the system:

- systemwide at
"Library/Audio/Plugins/Components"
- in the user directory
"Library/Audio/Plugins/Components"

Logic crashes at startup may have two reasons:

1. The problem is caused by a converted VST plugin.

2. Some VST_AU plugins have not been converted on the particular system.

Suggestion:
1. You have to determine which plug-in is causing the problem. To do so remove one plug-in at a time and restart Logic until you have located the problematic plug-in.

2. Use only VST to Audio Units plug-ins that have been converted on your system. Plug-ins that have been converted on other systems will not work.

If you continue to have problems please contact fxpansion (fxpansion.com).
