Q:
Can I program my MIDI controller to start/stop Sonar?
A:
Yes! If you have Sonar 2.0 or higher, you can create a Generic Cakewalk Surface in Options-Control Surfaces. Then, in Tools, go to Generic Cakewalk Surface. Choose Play at the bottom, press the controller's play button, and click Learn on the screen. The screen info should change slightly, and that key is now assigned. Repeat as needed for other keys.
