Q:
If I bring Digital Performer to the foreground, my controller keyboard will play the B4, but if I bring DP in background, I cannot play any application which receives MIDI from DP with my keyboard.
A:
It is a known issue with FreeMIDI that the latest installer installs a second FreeMIDI configuration file on your disc by mistake. This must be deleted and after that FreeMIDI configuration/setup has to be performed again. Important: in FreeMIDI preferences you must select "Inter application MIDI" and "FreeMIDI applications only". If you are using FreeMIDI in OMS-mode please make sure that OMS is set to "run in background". This keeps MIDI connection to applications which receive MIDI via Inter Application MIDI from DP while DP is even in background.

I use Sonar 2.0 XL and would like to record the B4. I've used the B4 as standalone for a couple of months, but I've learned that I can use it as a Dxi plug-in for Sonar. In the book, it says to install from the CD and choose Dxi plug-in. However, my CD installation doesn't have that choice when I do custom install.
