Q:
How can I get MIDI to work with my MIDI interface with Emagic Sound Diver? It used to work and now it doesn't even show up.
A:
You'll need to go into your WIN.INI file. Go to Start - Run and type this exactly: C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI and hit Enter. This will bring up one of your Windows configuration file. Go to Search - Find and type Sound Diver. Just below the header [Sound Diver], there will be a listing of all known midi ports in your system. On the midi ports you are trying to use, change the value to 1, which enables it. Do the same for the outputs. Be careful not to alter any other sections in this file - it is used by Windows. Save the file, reboot your computer, and Sound Diver should see all the midi ports you enabled.
