Q:
What does ASIO mean? What is it? Who developed it?
A:
ASIO means Audio Streaming Input Output and was developed by Steinberg as a low-latency protocol for getting audio to and from audio hardware and recording software. It is now a widely-used format, used by many softsynths and single- and multitrack recording software.
