Q:
When I disconnect an instrument in Tascam GigaStudio, why doesn't it free up memory for other samples?
A:
When you disconnect an instrument in GigaStudio, it keeps it loaded in RAM, but disconnects it from that MIDI port and channel. If you go to Loaded Instruments tab, you can right-click and unload one or all of the loaded instruments and free up memory.
