Q:
Is the Roland VSynth multi-timbral? Can it play multiple MIDI channels at once?
A:
The V-Synth can be setup to use all 16 MIDI channels separately through the use of assigning MIDI channels to zones (look up zones in the index), but the synth is really a sound design tool. It only has 24 voices of polyphony available, so if you wanted to play 16 channels of MIDI simultaneously, you'd use up 16 of the 24 voices with just playing one note on each MIDI channel. It's best to stick to just a few MIDI channels so you don't run out of polyphony.
