Q:
How do I setup the Roland XV5080 R-Bus port? Whats the difference between Parallel and Mix Modes?
A:
The XV-5080 R-BUS connector can make an eight-channel digital connection using
a single R-BUS cable. There are two types of output modes when using the R-BUS connection: Parallel and Mix. When using Parallel mode, signals are output according to the individual output parameters. This means that the Digital output assignments will be identical to the Analog output assignments. When using Mix mode, signals with output parameters set to odd numbered outputs (1/3/5/7) will be output through R-BUS A (MIX) output L. When using Mix mode, signals with output parameters set to even numbered outputs (2/4/6/8) will be output through R-BUS B (MIX) output R. To select the desired output mode, use the following procedure: 1. Press [SYSTEM/UTILITY]. 2. Press F2 (Output & EQ). 3. Use the CURSOR buttons to select (Mode). 4. Use the VALUE Dial or DEC and INC buttons to select PARALLEL or MIX. 5. Press EXIT to return to the previous display. Note: For an in-depth description of all of the other parameters on the output screen refer to page 119 of the Owner's Manual.
