How are the patches in the K2661 different than the ones in the K2600?

The 2661 was re-voiced - the samples are identical to the 2600, but the programs are new. To be more specific, the base ROOM (progs 1 thru 199) are brand new programs.

However, the Orchestral ROM programs (900 thru 999) and the Contemporary ROM programs (800 thru 899) are exactly the same.

If you really need the programs of the 2600, you can load them in the 2661 into user RAM. In fact, you could load them into Flash ROM (via the Boot Loader) so that they always appear.
