Can I configure the MIDI tracks in ProTools 6.x to trigger the Apple Software Synth?
A:
No. At this time (up to v6.2.3), you cannot use Apple Software Synth in ProTools.
In OSX, ProTools references Audio MIDI Setup (CoreMIDI) for all MIDI information that enters or leaves the ProTools environment. Because the Apple Software Synth does not have an identity in OSX's Audio MIDI Setup, ProTools will not recognize it as a valid software instrument.
