Q:
Can I use M-Audio USB Audio devices with USB 2.0 Ports?
A:
If you are running Windows XP on a computer with USB 2.0 ports, you will need to install Service Pack 1 and the most recent driver for you’re your mainboard’s chipset and USB controller. Without Service Pack 1 installed, USB 2.0 ports are not downward compatible with USB 1.1 devices in Windows XP. You will not have any benefit when running your M-Audio USB Audio device on a USB 2.0 port as opposed to a USB 1.1 port, as M-Audio’s USB audio devices comply with the USB 1.1 standard.
(This pertains to all M-Audio USB interfaces, including the Transit, AudioPhile USB, Omni Studio, and MobilePre).
