I've accidentally set Digidesign Pro Tools to keep the playback cursor...

I've accidentally set Digidesign Pro Tools to keep the playback cursor where I stopped playback instead of returning to where I started playback. How do I return it to its original setting?

Go to Setups - Preferences - Operations and uncheck the first option, Timeline Insertion Follows Playback.

You may have accidentally hit the a...z button just above Bars:Beats and below Spot and grid. This enables one-key keyboard shortcuts and makes the N key toggle this option on and off.
