Getting error messages: Lost communication with the Digi 002 unit -6097 in Pro Tools in OS X with a Digi 002.

In one case, the 002 was connected to an Adaptec DuoConnect PCI to Firewire adapter. Moving the 002 to the built-in firewire port resolved the issue.
