Before a new ZIP disk can be used by the EM-2000 it must first be formatted.
Use the following procedure to format a ZIP disk:

1) Insert a new ZIP disk into the ZIP drive.
2) Press F5 [DISK].
3) Hold SHIFT and press F3 [Utlty].
4) Press F3 [Formt].
5) Use the UPPER VARIATION knob to select "ID5."
6) Press M DRUMS [PROCEED].
7) Press UPPER 1 [FORMAT EXECUTE] to begin formatting.

NOTE: Formatting can take several minutes. Do not shut off the keyboard during
this time. When "FORMAT DEVICE" menu returns, formatting is complete.

8) Press F5 [EXIT] to return to the Master menu.
