Q:
MIDI I/O does not indicate "Online" when the MIDI Studio setup is launched. The MIDI studio setup crashes, including Pro Tools TDM 6.4
MIDI I/O is recognized by the MIDI I/O setup application.
The firmware updater sees and flashes the MIDI I/O though.
Worked fine on MacOS X 10.2.8, but shows the above symptoms on MacOS X 10.3.2
A: One or more plugins are incompatible with the CoreMIDI in Apple's new OS 10.3.x (Panther), in this case the incompatible plugin is Bitheadz UNITY. Navigate to the following directory and remove the UnityDriver Plugin: /Library/Audio/Midi Drivers/Unity Driver.plugin UNITY will function properly within Pro Tools, Even if the CoreMIDI plugin is removed. www.bitheadz.com
