HTDM vs RTAS versions of MachFive
A:
TDM (Mix) and Pro Tools LE users (001, 002, 002R, MBox) should use the RTAS version. HD based systems (HD) can use either RTAS or HTDM. The advantage to HTDM is that it allows Mach-Five to be used in surround mode (if you have a surround equipped monitoring system).
If you receive a DAE Error -1 when instantiating the HTDM version on a TDM system, make sure to use the RTAS version.
