Why won't my Steinberg Cubase or Nuendo metronome follow the time signature...

Why won't my Steinberg Cubase or Nuendo metronome follow the time signature in my project? It just keeps clicking 4/4 time over a different signature measure.

Go to Transport - Metronome Setup and make sure to uncheck these two settings:

Use Count Base
Use Signature

And make sure From Tempo Track is checked

That should make it follow the correct time signature/tempo.
